Kenyon Abel is a Founder and Managing Partner of CedarKnight Investment Management. He and Gilly Uppal founded CedarKnight in 2012. Under this leadership, the firm leads in offering market-neutral investments and trading strategies in fixed income and equity markets for pension funds and family office investors. CedarKnight’s focus is to offer access to specialised investment, trading and financing strategies that traditionally are deployed by financial institution desks for their account and to manage such portfolio structures.
Kenyon also serves on the board of Armira Capital, a boutique alternative global markets and investment advisory firm he co-founded in 2015.
Prior to becoming independent to establish a financial services group, Kenyon built his career in investment banking at Barclays Capital, followed by a period at BNPP Fortis, where he helped establish and develop the global risk management framework for structured finance and investment transactions for Global Structured Finance team. During his career, he has worked across asset classes concluding high-value multi-jurisdictional capital markets and asset-based transactions for banks, financial institutions and their clients. Over the last 20 years, Kenyon has focussed on all aspects of the product life cycle of trades : (i) establishing infrastructure (companies, funds, financing, capital, risk allocation management); (ii) asset management transaction portfolios; and (ii) the dismantling of intertwined complex financial markets products, transactions and associated infrastructure.
Kenyon is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments and a Fellow in the Association of Tax Taxation. He holds an honours degree in History from the University of Durham.
